The sticker on the protests of the Italian DSKe

The cartoon was published in the press Clement Canadian and U.S. signed a cartoon by Gary Clement's National Post, Canadian Journal of center, has raised the official protest of the Italian ambassador in Ottawa, Andrea Meloni, and the president of the National Congress of Italian-Canadian, Michael A.

Tibolla. The sticker that you see on the side, was published May 19 in the Canadian newspaper, and also played in approval on May 22 Laugh Lines in the weekly review of the New York Times, bringing to all readers of the daily U.S. that there are many more than those of the National Post.

In the cartoon we see the leader of French Socialist Dominique Strauss-Kahn behind bars, in conversation with his lawyer, who tells him: "His behavior in disqualification as president of France. On the other hand, the qualification to become Italian Prime Minister. " Ambassador Meloni, whose protest was published May 20 by the National Post, has also sent his note to the Canadian Courier, the newspaper of the Italian-Canadian community.

"I did not laugh at the cartoon in the National Post" wrote the Italian ambassador "because I found it offensive to free the Italian institutions and Italian citizens who choose their leaders, as Canadians, through democratic elections. I'm certainly not questioning the Post's complete freedom to set aside their political irony for the day: politicians are accustomed to criticism and have the means to defend themselves.

What I question is the phrase that is in charge of an entire country, a country that is a friend and ally of Canada and is part of its multicultural identity. "In addition to the Ambassador and chair of the National Congress of Italian Canadians, the cartoon has prompted protests of many readers of the National Post of Italian origin.

For heaven's sake, Ambassador Meloni does his duty and so is the president Tibolla. But do not blame Gary Clement nor the National Post or the New York Times whether the Italian first sporcatore image abroad is that Prime Minister who resigned over the scandal ever Ruby, and that will go down in history as the inventor of the bunga -bunga.
