Becerra Perez was arrested at Maiquetia International Airport (Caracas) few minutes after it landed in Venezuela, aboard a flight from Frankfurt.
Until that day, Perez Becerra was director of the Anncol news agency, headquartered in Stockholm, which broadcast news and press officers of the FARC. After a contentious legal proceedings, on April 13, 2011 Bogota decided to extradite to Venezuela. This exchange has been possible because, in August, the governments of Hugo Chavez and Juan Manuel Santos decided to give a new spin on bilateral relations and overcoming five years of misunderstandings.
