Taliban militants freed over 480 prisoners from the main prison in southern Afghanistan through a long tunnel dug for months, said the insurgents and the authorities. Prison officials Sarapo in the city of Kandahar, they discovered the leak at about four o'clock, half an hour after the Taliban said it had released all prisoners.
Pointed out that the militia began to dig a tunnel 305 meters long five months ago from a house near the watchtowers of the prison. Meticulously planned the route of the tunnel to avoid police checkpoints and main roads, the insurgent group said in a statement. Finally they came to the prison cells around 11 pm on Sunday and a handful of prisoners who knew of the plan opened the cell doors and brought out hundreds of their peers by without a single shot.
