Five Palestinians killed and 35 wounded by Israeli attacks in Gaza

Five Palestinians were killed and 35 wounded in the last hours in the Gaza Strip in several Israeli airstrikes, Palestinian medical sources said. According to sources, the dead were two Palestinian militants in the town of Rafah, a policeman in Junes Yan, a militant Islamist movement Hamas in the south of Gaza City and the fifth is a civilian, whose origin has not been been determined.

All these Israeli air strikes came after the armed wing of Hamas, the Brigades of Al Azedin Kasen, attacked with antitank rocket at an Israeli bus that ran through the territory of Israel near the Gaza border and the resulting injured the driver and a young, Israeli military sources said.

In response, combat aircraft and helicopters "Apache" Israelis bombed the east, north and south of the Strip, including sites linked to the armed wing of Hamas, witnesses said. The latest bombing came shortly after Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak ordered the army to respond "with all necessary means" to attack the bus.

In a press release, the armed wing of Hamas has claimed responsibility for the bus attack in response to what they termed "Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people." Before the start of air strikes, a source at the Organization for the Liberation of Palestine (PLO) had warned that they possessed information indicating that the Israeli army would act today.
