Brazil .- Start the wake of the victims of the slaughter of Rio de Janeiro

RIO DE JANEIRO, April 8. Families of 12 victims of the slaughter at a school in Rio de Janeiro have begun on Friday wakes and funerals, while dozens of people come to the school to pray in front of the makeshift shrine that have been created with flowers and crosses in honor deceased children. Ten girls and two boys between 12 and 15 years old died on Thursday after a former student identified as Wellington Menezes de Oliveira, 23, entered the municipal school Tasso da Silveira, located in the neighborhood of Realengo in western the city of Rio de Janeiro, and opened fire on students.

Witnesses have said the assailant walked into the classroom looking for girls, which may explain why more women have died. Oliveira committed suicide after a police intercepted on the second floor of the school and give him a shot in the leg. It is expected that in the next few hours are buried eight of the victims, according to the official Agencia Brasil.

Several ministers will attend the funerals on the orders of the president in Brazil, Ms Rousseff who hours after the tragedy, declared three days mourning across the country. Eleven of the victims died at the time of the shooting. The last died hours later in a health center. At least 12 students are admitted, one in serious condition.
