Seoul, Pyongyang threatened to open fire

.- North Korea threatened on Sunday to open fire on border installations in South Korea if the latter does not cease in its propaganda campaign against Pyongyang, according to a dispatch from North Korea's official news agency, KCNA, collected by the South Korean Yonhap. A North Korean military RESPONSIBLE called, told KCNA, the "psychological warfare" the actions taken by Seoul against the communist regime in Pyongyang and warned of possible attacks.

"If the act of psychological warfare continues, our military will fire directly," said the person in charge. The attacks would target the military and border area where South Korean activists throw propaganda leaflets against the regime of Kim Jong-il, North Korean agency said. The tension between the two Koreas has increased to its highest level in 2010 after the collapse in March of Korean corvette "Cheonan, which killed 46 sailors and Seoul attributed to North Korea.

To this was added last November the North Korean artillery barrage on the South Korean island of Yeonpyeong, in the Yellow Sea, which left four dead and has so far thwarted the resumption of a dialogue between the two Koreas.
