MADRID, 7 Jun. Aerolineas Argentinas (AA) has canceled a total of 34 flights and delayed departures of 13 connections because of the activity that continues to display the Puyehue volcano, which erupted on Saturday in Chile, and changes the trajectory of the ash cloud, according to the airline website.
Specifically, two operations will remain canceled until Tuesday, even while until Thursday 9 are canceled 26 flights, including those who are out at night to Santiago de Chile, among others. Also, until Sunday 12 will remain suspended six flights departing from airports in Argentina. However, AA warns that the program indicated it could "have modifications" subject to changes in the weather.
The 13 flights delayed "for security reasons" affect operations at the airports of Jorge Newbery (AEP) and (EZE), where the exits are postponed Montevideo (Uruguay) or Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), among others. Aerolineas Argentinas has made available to affected customers new estimated times for these flights, although he qualified that are "subject to modification by weather conditions." Passengers affected by the cancellations will leave passages 'open' for one year from the date of issuance and can update them without penalty.
