BUENOS AIRES, 6 May. Two Argentine province of Tucumán (north) caused a stir by the publication in the local newspaper 'The Gazette' of a message of condolence to the family of the late leader of Al Qaeda, Usama Bin Laden. "BIN LADEN, Osama. (RA) condolences to flia. Children Ms death," reads the text published on Thursday in the pages of the newspaper obituaries Tucuman, which coincides with other messages of condolence addressed to Argentines who lost family recently.
The note is signed by Musa Isa, son of Syrian lawyer and his friend Santiago Torres. "I do not agree with what the U.S. did, as a lawyer does not accept that a murder was committed in cold blood, leaving aside whether (Osama) was a terrorist or not," said Isa was quoted by 'The Gazette'.
"I am a man of law, and taught me that anyone who kills should be arrested, tried and convicted, not dead," said the lawyer. "There are many people who think like me, but are afraid to act," he added. The publication, unprecedented in the Western world, made such an impact in the media that the wording of 'The Gazette' were jammed on Thursday by the large number of phone calls from media in countries such as Argentina and the United States, Mexico, Israel and Brazil, according to the newspaper itself.
