The terrorist network Al Qaeda confirmed the death of its leader Osama bin Laden, in a statement posted on a website commonly used by Islamist groups. The terrorist group led Bin Laden also announced the upcoming broadcast of a message from his late chief Osama bin Laden recorded a week before his death.
The militant network also urged Pakistanis to rise up against their government to "cleanse" the country of what he called the embarrassment caused by the death of bin Laden on Pakistani soil. In the statement, Al Qaeda vowed to continue their attacks against the West and said the death of Osama bin Laden will be a curse "that haunts Americans and their agents." (Reporting by agencies)
