Footage from the subway in Berlin last Friday has shocked Germany. They see how two guys unleashing a brutal beating of a third party who was returning home after attending a sporting event. The boy, aged 29, received a blow that knocked him down and immediately began to stand, unable to show resistance, several kicks to the head that left him unconscious.
Today, four days later, opened his eyes but not yet fully recovered speech. Despite the excessive violence you see in the video and the shock reflected in the German media, a German judge has released the two assailants because no one has filed a charge against them. The attackers, both 18, were released after questioning and to recognize authors of the beating inflicted on early Saturday in the Friedrichstrasse station, in central Berlin.
As video cameras captured the season, both approached the victim, a gas fitter, and after crossing a couple of sentences first gave him a blow in the face with a bottle, and then, when attacked and had fallen to the ground, began kicking him. After several shots, one in the back, the victim could escape their abusers through the intervention of a man, 21, who was at the station and was slightly injured.
According to the prosecution, the victim managed to save his life thanks to the decisive intervention of this young city, and that was when the two assailants fled. The images captured by video cameras facilitated the identification of the attackers, who were delivered the next day and gave their statement to the police.
The prosecution alleges that the assailants charge of attempted murder, but were put on probation until they open the process, during which period shall be submitted three times a week at a police station. The attack adds to a series of similar incidents reported recently in Berlin and other German cities, which has sparked public alarm about the growing insecurity.
A few weeks ago, Berlin's media reported the assault to a young man of 29 when he slept on a bench in a season.
