Argentina/México.- Fernandez de Kirchner will travel to Mexico with a delegation of 200 businessmen

BUENOS AIRES, April 13. Argentina's President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner will travel to Mexico on Wednesday with a group of 200 businessmen to meet a tight agenda with which seek closer trade ties with that nation, one of the main destinations for Argentine exports. Fernandez de Kirchner, who remain in Mexico until next Friday, will be accompanied by national officials, governors and an important delegation composed of 200 businessmen, mostly from auto companies, because 36 percent of exports to that country lie in this sector, according to government sources have told the official news agency Telam.

The trade mission composed of representatives of companies Renault, Toyota, General Motors, Ford, Volkswagen and the Automobile Manufacturers Association (Adefa). Also travel the acting president of the Unión Industrial Argentina (UIA), Miguel Acevedo, and Vice President Luis Betnaza, while representing the Argentina Chamber of Commerce will be his vice president, Eduardo Eurnekian.

On the agenda is referred to a meeting Thursday with Mexican President Felipe Calderón, the official residence of Los Pinos. It is also planned on Friday met with tycoon Carlos Slim, considered by Forbes magazine the richest man in the world with a fortune estimated at 74,000 million dollars (50.992 million euros).

"The president's visit will strengthen a strategic relationship that links the north and south of Latin America," said Argentine Foreign Minister, Hector Timerman, in a statement Tuesday after arriving in Mexico City. "The goal Multisectoral Trade Mission is to increase and diversify exports to Mexico, Argentina," stressed the minister.

"We are about 50 investment projects worth 5,000 million dollars (3.447 million euros)," he added. Timerman chair this Wednesday with his Mexican counterpart, Patricia Espinosa, a new session of the Strategic Partnership will serve as a prelude to the state visit of Fernandez de Kirchner.

The Secretary of Commerce and International Economic Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Argentina, Luis Maria Kreckler, Telam explained that one of the main objectives of the president's visit to Mexico is to reduce the trade deficit, "Argentina has with that country, which is around 600 million dollars (413 million euros).

Mexico's imports from Argentina reached the 240,000 million (165,000 million euros) annually, according to data released by Telam.
