Two killed in Yemen Army repression

.- Yemeni soldiers killed two demonstrators and injured at least nine others after attacking a demonstration against the regime in the northern province of Amran. Yemen Shia rebels claimed that the army attacked with artillery fire a demonstration in the town of Harf Sufian in Amran province. In a statement the rebel movement "hutias", a group that took up arms in 2004 against the regime of Ali Abdullah Saleh, but maintains a fragile truce, says the attack was directed against a peaceful activity falling demand the regime.

The statement, signed by the group's leader, Abdel Malek al-Houthi, said that "during the protest to denounce corruption and regime change, the protesters were bombed, resulting in dozens of casualties, including dead and wounded." These insurgents took up arms seven years ago, led by Hussein al-Houthi, father of current leader and who died in September 2004 during the first outbreak rebel.

Rise of the zaiditas (members of a branch of Shiism) in northern Yemen joined the protest movement that takes place throughout the country for several weeks to demand the departure of Saleh, in power for 32 years. Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh faces from Jan. 27 to protest against it, mainly in Sana'a, the capital and the port city of Aden.

In Sanaa, tens of thousands of opponents of President Saleh demonstrated outside the university shouting "íLárgate, go away!" According to a report from News Yemen website. In the capital, groups of students camping on the streets for eleven days in protest against the president, whose current term ends in 2013.

Opposition leaders and religious leaders of Yemen (ulama) proposed yesterday to President Saleh an exit plan for the current political crisis, which provides for the resignation of the president before the end of the year. 'Yemen's president looks forward to proposals from the opposition parties', said a source at the presidency.

The five opposition parties, grouped on the platform 'Meeting Shared', announced that Saleh had sent a 'road map' to ensure an output of power 'in an honorable and peaceful. " The plan, which consists of five points, implies that 'the president agrees to resign his post later this year in response to the demands of the people.

" Also, the initiative calls on the authorities promise to investigate the violent methods the police used to suppress the demonstrators in protests that have occurred over the past two weeks in Sana'a and other cities, especially in the south.
