EU does not recognize Libya ceasefire

.- The United States said Sunday it would not recognize a cease-fire declared by the forces of Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi. "Our vision at this time (...) is not true, or was immediately violated," he told reporters on national security adviser in the White House, Tom Donilon. United States and its allies had a "good day" in his speech in Libya, said Donilon told reporters in Rio de Janeiro, where President Obama closed on Sunday the Brazilian stage of his first tour of Latin America.

More than eight thousand Libyans aligned with the rebel movement that rose up against Moammar Gadhafi have died in the revolt against his government, said Sunday on Al Jazeera a spokesman for that group. "Our martyrs are dead and up to more than eight thousand deaths, "said Abdel Hafiz Ghoga.

Also criticized the secretary general of the Arab League, Amr Moussa, for remarks that seemed to criticize the U.S. military action against Libya and its allies. The Arab League had called for imposing a no-fly zone on Libya to protect civilians from Gaddafi's forces, but Moussa on Sunday condemned "the bombing of civilians." "What is happening in Libya is different from the purpose of imposing a fly zone, and what we want is the protection of civilians and not bombing more civilians, "said Moussa was quoted by state news agency in Egypt.

Ghoga said: "Today, when the secretary general spoke, I was surprised." "What is the mechanism to stop the extermination of the people in Libya, what is the mechanism, Mr. Secretary General? If the protection of civilians is an obligation humanitarian, what is the mechanism that you propose? "he asked.
