Berlusconi appointed minister to an investigation for mafia trnsfuga

Silvio Berlusconi today opened a mini-government forced the resignation of Culture Minister Sandro Bondi, and the new composition of the majority. Democratic Party Responsible Initiative, a pastiche of a dozen escapees who was instrumental in saving the motion of censure in December and it still is today, joined the Cabinet to a shady character, which the President made yesterday objections " institutional.

" Saverio Romano This is a Sicilian Christian Democrat politician, former leaders of the UDC, investigated for complicity with the mafia. Romano will be the new Minister of Agriculture, seat vacated by Giancarlo Galan, who in turn replaced Sandro Bondi, the culture minister who leaves the executive in protest at the magnitude of budget cuts that drove his ministry.

The Democratic politician was sworn in this afternoon with Giorgio Napolitano, then issued a note that says she knows "serious allegations" that weigh upon the minister, adding that "there is no formal legal obstacles to justify a possible negative the appointment, "and concludes that he hopes" the ongoing process as soon as possible to clarify the true position of minister.

" The official statement reveals the profound malaise of Napolitano for the final decision of Berlusconi, who has been doomed to appoint Roman to meet the growing pressures of those responsible. The opposition has defined these pressures differently. According to the Democratic Party, "to bolster their majority destroyed, Berlusconi has had to endure a real racket." In his first act as minister, Romano was allowed to replicate the Quirinal saying there was "never charged, but only under investigation" and has "consciousness in its place." The Sicilian Romano is being investigated by the prosecutor of Palermo Giuliano Castiglia, accusing him of colluding with Mafia association.

It also has opened a process aggravated corruption, as it would have had the effect of favoring a Cosa Nostra. The group in charge, so called because they justified their support for Berlusconi's government, saying it was an act of national responsibility, have welcomed the appointment of a minister with a party that has been transmuted into anger when their members have begun to talk about sharing the secretariats that will touch each subgroup.
