Amnesty reports of abuse images in Syria

Amnesty International today released several videos that document the abuses committed by the Syrian security services to crack down on protesters demanding the downfall of the regime of Bashar al-Assad. An edited version of these documents offer only a pale reflection of the terrible images that can be seen in another video, which shows numerous cases of people-especially young men, dead of gunshots to the head.

According to Amnesty, the images have come from various sources in Syria and are probably taken in late March and April in the town of Dera and its surroundings. According to Philip Luther, deputy director of Amnesty's Middle East and North Africa, the fact that there are many images of men who have died "from a single gunshot to the head or upper body of evidence that the forces Security followed the guideline to shoot to kill and to terrorize the population and prevent the movement for reform takes to the streets.

" According to Amnesty, the security forces have used high-velocity bullets and have shot to kill from long range or close range and the images are proof that it is not really the argument that the regime faces terrorists. "We have not seen a single case in which one civilian was armed.

The soldiers were walking peacefully, something that would not do if they feared being attacked by organized terrorist groups, "says Luther. The organization has identified 720 people believed to have been killed by the security services since the revolt began. "These images should embarrass the Arab League and the Security Council, which have hardly done anything and should lead the Syrian regime to the International Criminal Court," says the director of Amnesty.

The document also shows signs of school, assisted mass burials of civilians inside the Omari mosque used as a hospital "because the injured did not want to go to hospital because they can be arrested and go" soldiers celebrating the taking of such a mosque, two scenes of uniformed men beating people with batons paths that were on the ground, wounded.
