Nicolas Sarkozy is preparing a trip to Benghazi

The date is not fixed yet. But it seems certain that Nicolas Sarkozy will travel to Benghazi, the rebel city of Libya. The Elysee Palace, in association with the National Transitional Council (CNT), the expected timing for this trip, marking an improvement in the ideal situation. Paris, like London and Rome, just to reinforce the presence of his military advisers and seeks to best support the Libyan revolution.

The head of state could reach Benghazi with David Cameron, the British prime minister. This hypothesis is being considered at the Elysee, where we see a way to mark the leadership of the Franco-British coalition. However, it must find a common date in the busy schedules of both leaders.

"It will be a trip to high-risk," said the philosopher Bernard-Henri Levy, interviewed by Le Monde (which he is a member of the supervisory board), Thursday, April 21. But it is hard to imagine the president to abandon. He himself has done much in this direction with the President of the NLC, Moustapha Abdeljalil, received Wednesday at the Elysee.

It remains to find a date and favorable circumstances.
