Israel responds with houses after bombing

The Israeli government raised the alert level for fear of police reprisals after the murder of a family of five people in a West Bank Jewish settlement and authorized the construction of hundreds of homes in Gaza. The burial of the Fogel family-parents and their three children, among whom was a baby, "stabbed to death as they slept Friday in the colony of Itamar (Northern West Bank), was scheduled yesterday in Jerusalem.

Meanwhile, the army and the Israeli security services continued their search or the murderers in the Nablus region. At the moment did not announce any credible claim of this massacre. Israeli police raised their alert level, especially in Jerusalem, fearing revenge attacks on Palestinians by Jewish extremists.

Angry settlers came last Saturday at the Palestinian village of Burin, a hot spot near Nablus, throwing stones and setting fire to a house, residents said. The army quickly intervened to disperse the attackers. On Saturday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called for "moderation" to the Israelis.

A few days ago which showed a great tension between Palestinian farmers and Jewish settlers extremists in that region of northern West Bank farm. The killing of Itamar was also condemned by the Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas. Politically, the Israeli government reacted to this attack by allowing the construction of "hundreds of houses" in the West Bank settlements.

Gush Etzion settlements, Maale Adumim, Ariel and Kiryat Sefer are among the most populated of the West Bank and part of what Israeli officials called "settlement blocs." The Israeli Government's decision to build hundreds of homes is unacceptable and we oppose it, because they only bring more problemasasesor of the Palestinian National Authority.
