The Six insists that Iran meet the United States

According to anonymous reports of a diplomat, Friday, January 21, the group of "Six" - which includes the United Kingdom, China, France, Russia, the United States and Germany - is currently pressure on Iran that his delegation agreed to meet bilaterally the United States. "The Six can not make progress until there is no rencotre bilaterally with the United States," said the diplomat close to the talks.

"My gut feeling is that if the Iranians refuse to meet with the Americans (major powers) will withdraw from the table," he added. The Iranian negotiator said his country wants its right to uranium enrichment be recognized, and also calls for the lifting of international sanctions against Iran, as preconditions to start talks on an exchange of fuel, according the diplomat.

Thursday Iran had declared its readiness to discuss with the major powers of an agreement to exchange nuclear fuel, according to the representative of the Islamic Republic to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) . Discussions of Istanbul, which must be Saturday, the seconds are between Iran and the six after a first meeting in Geneva in early December, which followed a break of fourteen months.

Iran had rejected in 2009 a project of the Vienna group (USA, Russia, France) in Russia from sending 1,200 kg of low enriched uranium for Iran in return for Russia and France fuel for medical research reactor in Tehran. In May 2010, Iran presented with Turkey and Brazil, a cons-proposal planning to send in "deposit" in Turkey's 1200 kg of uranium to make the exchange.

The major powers have ignored this offer. Iran is within the scope of four sets of UN sanctions, in addition to sanctions imposed unilaterally by the United States and the European Union. - What to expect from the Istanbul meeting on the Iranian nuclear?
