Opposition to the streets in Algiers clashes and injuries, deputy arrested

ALGIERS - clashes, injuries and arrests at the march in Algiers of the opposition party, Rassemblement pour la Culture et la Democratie, scheduled today without the permission of the authorities. Police surrounded the protesters and has begun to make the first arrests. The government had banned all citizens to participate in the event, held to protest the high cost of living and government policies but the RCD was outraged by the ban and had decided to maintain the convening of the protest.
