SAO PAULO, 14 June (Reuters) - The ash cloud ejected from the Chilean chain of volcanoes Puyehue-Cordón Caulle came to the cities of Porto Alegre and Florianopolis, southern Brazil, where as in Argentina and Uruguay remained suspended some air operations. The Brazilian Air Force (FAB), based on information from the Argentine center responsible for monitoring the ashes that have affected air traffic in the Southern Cone, reported that the cloud began to be in that nation.
The ash cloud "is displayed in the northeast, primarily in the sense of (City) Navigators in the state of Santa Catarina, said Major Ricardo Brito, Operations Center Air Navigation FAB based Rio de Janeiro. TAM Airlines - the largest in Brazil - on Tuesday resumed flights to Montevideo in Uruguay, but announced that remained suspended operations at Ezeiza airport in Buenos Aires.
The airline Gol said it remains canceled their flights to Buenos Aires and Rosario, Argentina, and Montevideo, Uruguay. According to information from the state Brazilian Airport Infrastructure Company (Infraero), until the morning of Tuesday more than 20 percent of international departures were canceled.
The airport with more flights suspended is to Guarulhos, in Sao Paulo, followed by the Galeao, Rio de Janeiro.
