Confiscated a mummy and three skulls in a mailing from Bolivia

BUENOS AIRES, 28 May. The Federal Administration of Public Revenue Argentina (AFIP) has confiscated a complete mummy discovered three skulls in a mailing from Bolivia, as reported by the Argentine newspaper 'La Nacion'. The contents had been declared as replicas of Peruvian ceramics. According to the source, it would be remains of the Paracas culture (which came in the eighth century BC and disappeared in the third century).

The parts are being analyzed by researchers at the National Institute of Archaeology and Latin American Thought. "While the mailing came from La Paz, Bolivia, and was entered on behalf of an Argentine citizen, the archaeological remains have been extracted from southern Peru and the final destination would European museums and private collectors, looking especially textiles that surround the mummified remains, "stated the AFIP in a statement.

The material was detected by customs agents to scan the items as Post offices. The recipient of the shipment was detained before a judge and Economic Criminal.
