More than a hundred students joined social protest yesterday in Tunisia by the economic crisis and rising unemployment. The demonstrations that began in the village of Sidi Bouzid few weeks ago when a young man blew himself up in front of City Hall after police confiscated his peddler of fruits and vegetables, have intensified and spread to several cities in the North African country.While students are organized through online social networks to keep alive the protest, several trade associations have called strikes for the next few days. The opposition to the government of Ben Ali has reported numerous arrests of protesters and a heavy police repression.
