.- A suicide attack in a supermarket popular with foreigners, killing eight people in the embassy district of the Afghan capital on Friday, the first major Taliban attack on civilians in Kabul for nearly a year. Three foreign women were among the dead, and six people were wounded, said police chief of Kabul, Ayub Salangi.
A Reuters reporter saw the body of a child being taken out of shattered local. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the blast and said it was aimed at foreigners, including the leader of a security company. "We take responsibility for the attack, and was carried out at a time when foreigners were shopping, including the head of a security company," said Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid.
