All the U.S. airline United Airlines planes, on Friday night, grounded due to a computer failure. "At about 19 h 15, Chicago time, United Airlines had a computer crash that interrupted the departure of flights with the shipments at airports and reservation systems," said a spokesman.
It took about four hours to solve the fault and return the records, from midnight. United merged with Continental on October 1 to form the largest airline group worldwide with a total of about 5,820 daily flights now. But both companies still exist separately, and Continental flights were not affected by the problem.
