.- Three ships in the carrying nearly 700 immigrants from North Africa arrived in the Italian island of Lampedusa overnight, authorities said Saturday. The ships, which is believed to set sail from Libya, transporting a total of 667 immigrants. Two other vessels with a total of 200 people were located about 32 miles and were heading to the island, said a coast guard official.
