The Libyan National Transitional Council President, Mustafa Abdelyalil, today welcomed the warrant arrest issued by the International Criminal Court against Colonel Muammar Gadhafi. In a press conference in Benghazi, a stronghold of the rebel forces that control the east, broadcast live on Al Jazeera Catari chain, Abdelyalil also warned against any attempt to organize a flight from the Libyan leader of the country.
CNT President also noted that the ICC prosecutor, Luis Moreno Ocampo, has proven its credibility "with respect to the transparent collection of evidence of crimes committed by Gadhafi and his regime." Abdelyalil added that the "list" is not closed, referring to the names that appear next to Gadhafi in the warrant, and his son Seif al Islam Gadhafi and the head of the secret services, Abdullah Sanusi.
He urged the "political and military" still remain loyal to him give it up to "safeguard their lives."
