Moroccan trade unions claims second the policies of the young

Moroccan trade unions have supported today, with some nuances, the demands of young people who ask for two months on the streets a change of political system. "The working class is part of the Movement February 20th," read a large banner association in the demonstration on 1 May in Rabat. "For the dissolution of parliament and government," demanded another banner brandished by the procession of the Moroccan Union of Workers, one of the two main.

This is one of the recurring requests of February 20 Movement headed youth are more visible. But in the court also had the odd portrait of King Mohamed VI. Although the May 1 parade with the participation of several hundred young people of this movement remained primarily union. Within it was introduced workers and employees of companies with specific demands and for a time the airline workers managed to Royal Air Maroc placed in front of the demonstration in Rabat.

Rejection of terrorism The rejection of terrorism, four days after the attack in Marrakesh that caused 16 deaths, also featured on posters carried by the militants. "Terrorism fears a democratic constitution," chanted the youths who submit that the reform of the Constitution proposed by the monarch Alawi in his speech on 9 March.

In the capital some 12,000 people took to the streets, according to independent sources, a number not very high compared to other years. There are probably two reasons for this. Yesterday it rained heavily for much of the country. On April 26 the unions reached an agreement with the government which includes substantial increases in staff salaries and a strong appreciation of the lowest pensions.

Concentrations in Marrakech In Marrakech, a few hundred people have taken to the streets in various rallies organized by unions and the reform movement on 20 February. The demands of the protesters went beyond labor issues because of the call, urging the authorities to speed up the pace of reform and condemning terrorism.

Youth Group on February 20 led a march reduced from original plans due to the heavy rain lashing Marrakech today. "Morocco free", "Governments change, as usual, we want freedom" were the most repeated slogans. Also heard from some sectors of youth shouting "down tyranny", which from the union ranks has been answered with some "live the king." There was also a chorus of condemnation of terrorism, which struck a cafe in Marrakech on Thursday, killing 16 people, and some significant "The attacks are a play," referring to the suspicion that internal actors to Morocco was perpetrated for slow change.

Coordination between the groups was not total, so the trade unions came together not all in the same act INIF. Security forces found the acts, which proceeded peacefully, without intervening
