French photographer wounded died in Tunisia

.- The French photographer Lucas Dolega, regular contributor to the Agencia Efe, died Wednesday in Tunis where he was wounded on Friday by a tear gas bomb while covering the riots in the country to EPA. The reporter, 32, was in serious condition at a Tunisian hospital where the doctors could do nothing to save his life, told Efe responsible for European Pressphoto Agency (EPA) in France, Horacio Villalobos.

Dolega had come to Tunisia on Thursday until Friday but could not begin work on the coverage of the demonstrations. After sending the first pictures, the reporter went to the riots that were taking place that day against the Tunisian Interior Ministry. There, about 16:00 hours, was hit by a tear gas canister thrown by police about five feet away, according to eyewitnesses, said Villalobos, who noted that the shooting was "a clear intention to injure or kill ".

The shot struck the area between the left eye and left ear Dolega, which was immediately transferred to a Tunisian hospital. The doctors who treated him said the photographer would lose the eye but could save your life. But at dawn on Saturday his condition worsened and had to induce the coma.

Later, doctors said he could not save his life and finally died this morning. The reporter's girlfriend arrived yesterday in Tunis and their parents will in the coming hours. Dolega, who worked for EPA and Efe among other means, usually living in Paris but moved to different parts of the world to cover conflicts, one of his passions.
