The Pope: "Still concerned about the insecurity of many families"

CITY 'OF THE VATICAN - "Our time is full of human evil, of suffering and tragedies of all kinds, from those caused by the wickedness of men to those resulting from natural events ominous, but it contains now and permanently and indelibly the news joyous and liberating of Christ the Saviour. " The Pope said in his homily of the Te Deum at the end of year, recited in the basilica of San Pietro, in front of the faithful, religious and civil authorities and ambassadors accredited to the Vatican.

The year that is about to close can not help but remind us that''the present moment still generates concern over the insecurity faced by many families in''and asks''to be close to those living in poverty and distress,'' said the Pontiff. Benedict, delivering the 2010 "to God and to his opinion just and merciful," he asked to "find the presence of God's love even in the short and strenuous hours of our daily life." There is a "great figure in time - he said - it is inhabited by the love of God." "A special memory - added Pope Ratzinger - goes to those who are in trouble and spend between distress and suffering this holiday season.

Each and every one I assure my affectionate thoughts that accompany you with prayer." The year that is about to close can not help but remind us that''the present moment still generates concern over the insecurity faced by many families in''and asks''to be close to those living in poverty and distress,'' said the Pontiff.

Finally a thought to 'his' Diocese, that of Rome. ''Dear brothers and sisters, our Church of Rome is committed to helping all the baptized to live faithfully the vocation you have received and to witness the beauty of faith. To be true disciples of Christ, a crucial support comes through daily meditation on the Word of God which is the basis of all true spirituality 'Christian.'' Hence the encouragement of a spiritual effort,''in particular through the 'lectio divina', to get the light needed to discern the signs of God in the present tense and to proclaim the Gospel effectively.''
