Israel "is determined" to intercept a fleet of ten vessels to sail from Greece next week to transport humanitarian aid to Gaza, warned Thursday the Israeli ambassador to the UN Ron Prosor. "Israel is determined to stop the fleet. Israel has the right to self-defense".
The flotilla "is clearly within the framework of a political process," added the ambassador. "The fleet does nothing constructive," is the "provocation and has nothing to do with humanitarian aid," he said. A dozen boats must sail from Greece next week as part of a "freedom flotilla" peaceful to transport humanitarian aid to Gaza by forcing the Israeli blockade, organizers said.
