Rebels hold positions between oil cities

A Libyan official said that rebel forces advanced to reach a strategic oil town after a four-day retreat. Hassy Colonel Hamid said that after fighting against government forces, rebels are now near oil installations in Brega. He added that the rebels have brought engineers to repair any damage that they have the refinery and terminal in advance to have gone from one group to another at least a dozen times since the start of each month and a half ago.

Advanced Hassy attributed to the result of several days of attacks Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), which has weakened the forces of Muammar Gadhafi. Rebels stepped up its efforts to position itself in the oil port of Brega, while forces loyal to Gadhafi continued the siege on Misrata with rocket and mortar attacks.

The rebels said some of its fighters were positioned on the outskirts of Brega, but stressed that their forces vulnerable to attack on the road, unable to send more men to confront the regime loyalists in the City. According to The New York Times, the U.S. government launched an intense search to find a country which grants refuge to Gadhafi.

NATO has conducted a total of three thousand 670 military air operations since taking command of the international operation on Libyan territory
