Economic activity in Egypt amid protests

.- The security forces and citizens trying to prevent looting on Sunday in major Egyptian cities after five days of massive protests against the government. Following a review of economic activity in Egypt - The Suez Canal was operating normally, an official told Reuters the channel. - The head of the Port Authority in the Red Sea said the 10 ports under its supervision, including Suez, operated normally and said he had not received any cancellation of ships bound for Egypt.

Other sources confirmed that the ports were operating but said the curfew had reduced the work. - Domestic air traffic and trains operated, though officials advised passengers to arrive at the train stations and airports before the start of the curfew. - European airlines canceled some international flights to Cairo but other flights, including some of EgyptAir, has continued, albeit with delays.

- The subway system in Cairo was operational but did not stop at the station from the main city square, Tahrir, point of protest, witnesses told Reuters. - Cars going through Cairo, although traffic was substantially less and the army was returning to their homes, some people even before the curfew.

Urban freeways were open. - Mobile phone services were running after being blocked in some areas of the country for a day on the orders of the authorities. However, text messaging has been disabled and internet services have been suspended around the country.
