Three suspected accomplices in the bombing April 28 in the Jemaah el Fna square in Marrakesh have been arrested by Moroccan security forces, confirmed today the executive, who insisted on the link to the alleged perpetrator of the terrorist network Al Qaeda. Minister government spokesman Khalid Naciri, said today at a press conference after the weekly Council of Government, which has arrested three suspected of being linked to the bombing, which left 17 dead and scores injured, while no details about those arrests.
Moroccan newspaper "Ahdaz the Maghribiya" published in its Monday edition that the three arrested are accused of having collaborated in the handling of mobile phones to activate the two pumps, 9 and 6 kilos of weight that the suspect placed in the Cafe Terrace Argana. Also, Naciri stressed that the government can not react to the alleged statement from Al Qaeda in Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), released last week by a Mauritanian news agency, by failing to verify the origin of that text.
Nevertheless, the Executive, which according Naciri "noted" the statement has not changed his mind about the link of the alleged perpetrator, the Otmani Adil with AQIM. "The government has said that the main suspect has sworn allegiance to Al Qaeda, which is within the ideological orbit of Al Qaeda.
Do not change your mind whatever those statements," he said Naciri. The Moroccan Interior Ministry had previously reported the arrest of the Otmani and two other accomplices, all residents in the port city of Safi (about 150 miles west of Marrakech). The spokesman declined to provide further details on the investigation which is ongoing, and told reporters that the information will be disseminated as being confirmed.
