Barak Netanyahu awards with four ministries

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, yesterday awarded the newborn political party that will lead Ehud Barak, now defense minister, with four ministries. This agreement reflects the satisfaction of Netanyahu to Barak out of the Labour Party and setting up a new party and a Zionist center "on Monday.

Barak decided to break with Labour, to become partners in the Executive Government of Netanyahu-led coalition on the grounds that he exerted excessive pressure on the left. For months asking party members to Barak, the leader, to leave the coalition government if there were no developments in the moribund peace negotiations with the Palestinians.

After Barak announced he would form a new party, Labour in government decided to abandon their portfolios. Netanyahu and Barak were locked in intense negotiations on Monday night, which has resulted in granting Atzmaut (Independence)-the new party, composed of the time by five deputies, ministries of Defence, Industry, Trade and Labor; Minorities, and Agriculture.

The fifth member of Atzmaut get the chairmanship of a parliamentary committee. With this decision, Netanyahu strengthens the broad coalition government, which loses plurality and right heel. Moreover, Russian President Dmitri Medvedev said Tuesday Moscow's support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital during an official visit to the West Bank.
