Initially it was said that there were 141 prisoners escaped, then 151 and now the prosecution says they are 153. So far there has been the arrest of any of them. While the prison director, Efrain Hernandez Llamas, who did not show up for work after the escape, is still missing. The head of state prisons, Horacio Sepúlveda, was fired days after the leak.
Tamaulipas beginning of the year is the battlefield of two drug cartels, the Gulf Cartel and the Zetas, whose bloody war has killed more than a thousand dead and created an atmosphere of terror among the citizenry.
