RIO DE JANEIRO, April 8. TAM will invest 300 million dollars (207 million) in expanding their options to buy two Airbus A330 to its fleet, valued at that amount at list prices, devoted to aircraft flights to Frankfurt, New York and London , announced the airline. The airline expects to receive the first of these aircraft in April and another next May.
The company, which currently has a fleet of 152 aircraft, will increase its fleet to 156 aircraft later this year. With the addition of the first aircraft, TAM will increase from four to six weekly frequencies between Rio de Janeiro and New York (USA.). The first of these departures will begin operations in May, while the second output is pending approval of the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC), but is expected to start in August.
Flights to London, which will increase from three to six departures per week, will begin operations in August this year. "The airport in Rio and is our second international hub.
