Brazil .- Brazil focuses its tourism strategy to attract travelers in the face Spanish Easter

MADRID, 30 Mar. Brazil has focused its strategy to attract Spanish tourists ahead of the Easter holiday by promoting its beaches, ecotourism and cultural offerings, as reported by the Brazilian Institute of Tourism, Embratur. Among the most popular Brazilian destinations are the Spanish Foz do Iguaçu (Paraná), Rio de Janeiro (Rio de Janeiro), Salvador (Bahia), Sao Paulo (Sao Paulo) and Natal (Rio Grande do Norte).

Specifically, in the case of Madrid, the capital has new connections between Madrid and the Brazilian cities of Recife and Fortaleza, operated by Iberia. Also, Salvador (Bahia), Fortaleza (Ceará), Recife (Pernambuco), Sao Paulo (Sao Paulo) and Rio de Janeiro (Rio de Janeiro) already have direct flights from Madrid.

In total, 36 direct weekly flights connect Spain and Brazil, regardless of flights from other European countries. From 2003 to 2010, foreign exchange earnings generated by the tourism sector grew by 138.8% to the figure of 5,900 million dollars (4.184 million euros). Brazil expects a significant increase of foreign tourists, from the current five million to eight million visitors expected by 2014, according to the president of the Brazilian Institute of Tourism, Mario Moses.
