Schwarzenegger leaves office as governor of California

Arnold Schwarzenegger leaves office as governor of California Monday, January 3, without having anything unveiled its future plans after seven years as head of the state's most populous and richest U.S.. Democrat Jerry Brown will succeed the former actor, who was not represented in the last election.

Regarding his future, the governor of California said recently during an official trip to Moscow that "there are many options to make films, write books." Arnold Schwarzenegger, whose Austrian surname faded behind several nicknames - an "Arnie" to "Governator", in reference to the Terminator series that made its fortune in Hollywood - had said he would remain focused on its responsibilities policies until the end of his term.

If he was impressed by his transformation into a liberal Republican champion of the environment - which earned him his reelection in 2006 - his popularity rating has suffered in recent years of economic setbacks of California, severely beaten by crisis. But many observers speculate further his political career.

Some look for Congress in Washington, others on a post in the Obama administration, in connection with the environment. One thing is certain: he will not seek the White House against Obama in 2012, the supreme function is restricted to persons born in the United States while he is a naturalized American from a small town near Graz, Austria.

In 1968, at the age of 21 years, Arnold Schwarzenegger arrived in the United States, penniless and with only a few CV bodybuilding trophies.
