Health reform: Republicans raise Obama's law on

The U.S. Republican redeem an election promise: In the House, they voted for the withdrawal of the controversial health reforms of President Obama. The vote is largely symbolic and has no consequences. For in the Senate, the Democrats hold on the majority. Washington - When U.S. President Barack Obama last year put his health care reform, Republicans vilified the opposition the project.

Also on Wednesday, they again found pithy words. The law "destroy the relationship between doctors and patients" and "vandalize the fund in America," thundered Republican Steve King. The verbal attacks were only the beginning. For the Republicans, who now have a majority in the House of Representatives voted, now for the reduction of health care reform.

The decision to repeal the reform work fell largely along party lines: 245 deputies were in favor, 189 against. The Republicans had promised during the election campaign for the congressional elections in November 2010 to try to overturn the law. Among other things, they argue that the law enables the government too much interference in health care.

In addition, the federal deficit will inflate the reform further tens of billions of dollars. Obama and his Democrats reject that. Specific effects is the vote not once have: The second chamber of the U.S. Congress, Senate, the Democrats continue to control. On laws the consent of both chambers is necessary.

Moreover, any decision of the Congress President Obama stop using his veto. "Political theater Republican" Democrats, the Republicans' actions described as "a waste of time". The Democratic Senate majority leader, Harry Reid, has already stressed that he had no plans to vote on a repeal of the health reform.

The White House accused the Republicans of political theater. "This is not a serious legislative initiative," said spokesman Robert Gibbs President before the vote. Obama gave the Republicans to work together to improve the reform legislation. A full review but he refused. "There can be no going back," he said.

Like many of his party colleagues took advantage of Obama's vote as an opportunity to once again point out the benefits of reform: health insurance companies are required to include also insured Vrkrankungen. It is also made more difficult for them to exclude insured in case of serious illnesses.

Moreover, the reform further grants for pensioners and students about the insurance fund of the parents. The Americans are indifferent to the health reform, the adoption in March 2010 after months of fierce party conflict was preceded split.
