After the fraud allegations overshadowed by presidential elections in Belarus's authoritarian president Alexander Lukashenko has appointed a new government. Lukashenko said just over a week after his controversial re-election the former head of its administration, Mikhail Myasnikovich, the new prime minister.Photo: AP / Mikhail Myasnikovich DPA is the new Prime Minister of Belarus The 60-year-old Myasnikovich, who until Tuesday was president of the National Academy of Sciences, will replace the current Prime Minister Sergei Sidorsky. Lukashenko had the vote in the ex-Soviet republic on 19 December after the official presentation with just under 80 percent won hands down.
