A 34 year old man tried to set themselves on fire in Algeria after suffering several refusals of appointment of local administrative services, said Thursday, January 27th the Algerian League for the Defence of Human Rights. It is the ninth attempted immolation known in Algeria since the start in January with a movement of social discontent that triggered riots in the wake of the "jasmine revolution" in Tunisia.
Two of the victims died of their wounds. According to the local office of the Algerian League for the Defence of Human Rights, Tahar Rabiye, parking attendant, was doused with gasoline Wednesday morning before the wilaya (province) of Djelfa, 270 km south-west Algiers, because the authorities refused to let him in and cracked a match.
Third-degree burns, was rushed to hospital Douira, a suburb of Algiers, the source said. Relatives of the victim told the Quotidien d'Oran that the owner of a vacant lot next to a clinic had told her not to park vehicles through its commitment to keep a few coins.
