France is leading the foul mood: The mood led to an international study. Nowhere else is pessimistic in the new year. The Germans, however, before bursting confidence. And the most optimistic citizens of the world? Live where one would not necessarily expect it. For the Germans, the neighbors across the Rhine is a life artist, a man of pleasure and promoted - particularly by UNESCO as a World Heritage excellent - fine food culture.
But the citizens who look "live like God in France", in the majority sour on present and future of their nation. They are in almost all areas of life almost international winners in the negative mood, as a major Gallup survey showed, among 64 000 citizens in 53 countries. More surprising still, the future hopes of the French for the next twelve months are even below the expectations of the people of Afghanistan, Pakistan or Iraq - countries whose everyday lives of terrorist bombings and bloody civil war is marked.
More than two-thirds look 2011 - promised by President Sarkozy as a "useful year" - to ensure livelihood and economy: an increase of ten percentage points over last year. For the beleaguered British people, a good half, optimistic given the Spaniards with 48 negative points, and the Italians (41 percent).
The Germans, cut thanks to falling unemployment and strong growth forecasts on the rise, almost as audacious as hopeful - at 78 percent, the mood of optimism barometer. The Paris station France Info reported amazed: "France - World record holder of pessimism 2011. Surprise for the researchers load remains the fear of job loss, two thirds believe that the situation will worsen in the labor market, so that the French are on this issue after the British and the Pakistanis.
As for personal relations, the atmosphere is somewhat more favorable, 37 percent bet on a decline - so they are still best in the world, after all, against Afghans and Iraqis. The explanation for the pessimism, so Céline Bracq, vice director of the polling institute BVA Opinion: "Are the French, compared to the other nations, structurally pessimistic - which are, however, perplexed have is the fact that this year despondent than in the past.
" This is unexpected for the pollster: In 2010 the citizens had in the states of the East consistently seen as a rather hopeless, now lead the French to the list of the pessimists. Behind it hides so Bracq against France Info, a traditional atmosphere that is the "collective" states: "In this case, the idea of the state community as a guarantee of a secure-round supply." In the face of financial crisis and economic crash, the debate about budget deficits and debt fears were raised that the state would no longer be there for citizens to stand by them in difficult situations at hand.
Such pensions on the government alone can leave no one, even the French will have to reach into the purse, the perceived reaction of the citizens. Bracq: "France is changing from a welfare state to the state of powerlessness." While the muffle atmosphere in the U.S. and Europe, bypassing the future confidence reached there peak, where the economy is booming - in Asia.
And just in socialist Vietnam, most people believe in a truly golden future. Correction: In the past 15 years, the number of people who lived there under the poverty line fell by 15 million, the Paris newspaper Le Parisien. Thanks to an economic growth of seven percent, the Vietnamese the most optimistic people in the world.
